Green Built Home (GBH) is a national award winning green building initiative that reviews and certifies new homes and remodeling projects
that meet sustainable building and energy standards. The program was named the 2006 Green Building Program of the Year by the National Association of
Home Builders (NAHB). GBH is implemented in partnership with the Madison Area Builders Association (MABA) and in cooperation with other participating builders
associations, leading utilities and organizations that promote green building. Currently one of over forty green building programs nationwide, Green Built Home was the first program east of the Mississippi and between 1999 and 2007 has certified 3,700 homes in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois.
